FINANCIAL SERVICES

Jeff Atwater, chief financial officer will hold an open meeting for anyone looking for dormant accounts in financial institutions such as insurance, utility companies securities and trust holdings. the meeting will take place at the Main Library, 1960 N. Ponce de Leon Blvd., from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31.

TOASTMASTERS MEETING

The Council on Aging will host a Toastmasters program from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. June 14 at The Players Community Center, 175 Landrum Lane. Toastmasters is a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking and leadership skills.

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION

The GTM Researce Reserve, 505 Guana Road, will offer an introduction to its volunteer program from 10 to 11:30 a.m. June

2. Perspective volunteers will learn about the background and history of the reserve, volunteer opportunities, volunteer expectations and benefits as well as tour the Environmental Education Center. For information, call Shannon Rininger at 832-4500.

GUIDED HIKE

The GTM Research Reserve will host a guided exploration hike from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. June 3 at the reserve’s Trailhead Pavilion, west of the Guana Dam. During the hike, visitors will learn about the natural biodiversity of the reserve and the peninsula’s 5,000 years of human history. There is a $3 fee for parking and the event is free. DOG DAY FUN

The Ravine Gardens State Park, 1600 Twigg St., Palatka, will hold Dog Days at the park from 9 to 11 a.m. June 3. Visitors will meet local representatives from the Animal Health Center, Crill & Palm Vet Clinic, Shelton Vet Clinic and Pet Supermarket, plus dog trainers and pet adoption specialists. Pet adoption will be provided by S.A.F.E. Dogs must be on a leash the entire time. For information, call 386-329-3721.
